The new Bank of Greece building in Thessaloniki is a contemporary 6,000 m² complex designed to meet high security and operational requirements. Its architecture combines clean geometric forms, a restrained monochromatic palette, and natural materials, creating a formal yet timeless identity. Particular emphasis was placed on integrating the building into its natural surroundings while ensuring efficient functional organization.
The lighting design reinforces this architectural clarity through a carefully orchestrated, discreet approach that enhances spatial perception while supporting the building’s operational demands. Concealed linear luminaires and discreet recessed lighting define circulation routes and perimeter zones with exceptional visual precision, ensuring uniform illumination, excellent visual comfort, and strict glare control. Rather than drawing attention to the light itself, the scheme reveals the purity of the architectural composition, creating a calm and highly legible night time identity.
Within the interior, a balanced lighting strategy provides comfortable, natural-spectrum illumination that promotes wellbeing and sustained visual performance across the workplace. At the heart of the facility, a highly coordinated automated lighting system serves the secure vault areas, integrating seamlessly with the building’s security infrastructure while expressing the technological sophistication of the project. The result is a lighting solution that unites functionality, precision, and architectural elegance, establishing a distinctive visual presence both day and night.
