This 400 m² ground-floor residence is located within a typical mid-19th-century Haussmannian building in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Paris. The renovation brief called for a contemporary living environment that respectfully preserves the building’s architectural heritage. R.C. Tech led the architectural design, with lighting design and supply by Prolight.
Lighting was conceived as a central narrative element, balancing technical precision with a layered, atmospheric quality. The main corridor was reinterpreted as a refined art gallery, exhibiting the family’s collection assembled through international travel.
A reflective stretch ceiling amplifies natural daylight deep into the interior during day, while track-mounted adjustable spotlights along both sides of the corridor provide precise accentuation of artworks. Concealed LED strips within wall-mounted storage introduce a soft indirect glow, enhancing depth and spatial continuity. In communal areas, suspended track systems with spotlights illuminate the space while wall-mounted art lights enrich the display of vintage paintings.
The lighting design is completed by decorative suspended luminaires, floor and table lamps-combining contemporary and classical expressions to complement the architectural lighting strategy. The result is a flexible and elegant residential environment offering multiple lighting scenarios suited to the rhythms of a large family, reinforcing the refined historic character of the Haussmannian architecture. All luminaires utilize LED sources with CRI 90+, 2 SDCM color consistency, and DALI dimming control.
