Gople design by Big - Bjarke Ingels Group wins the Interior Design Best of Year Awards 2018 in the pendant lighting section.
Interior Design's Best of Year is the design industry's premiere design awards program, honoring the most significant work of the year as well as recognizing designers, architects and manufacturers from around the globe.
Now celebrating its 13th year, Interior Design's Best of Year has become the ultimate measure of excellence, showcasing what's happening today in every category of design while simultaneously setting the bar even higher for the future.
Gople reconciles human spaces and nature through light. A mouth-blown glass produced according to an ancient traditional venetian technique encloses a patented RWB light technology that helps plants grow, creates scenic or ambiance effects, and provides functional white lighting. It is a new testimony of the Artemide research on the quality of light and its color and a new testimony of the fruitful partnership with BIG, after the success of the Alphabet of Light family.
The awards event, held for the first time at the Jacob Javits Center' s Iconic River Pavilion in New York City on November 30th, was hosted by Interior Design Editor in Chief Cindy Allen and Publisher Carol Cisco.

The second award that Gople won for Artemide is the Wallpaper Design Award 2019 as the Life-enhancer of the Year.
"For those who struggle to keep their indoor flora alive and kicking, the Gople may prove to be a godsend. A collaboration between lighting specialist Artemide and Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the lamp features lighting technology that aids plant growth, while also providing functional white light. The RWB (red-white-blue) lighting system, which Artemide patented in 2011, replaces the standard "red-green-blue" as the combination favoured for the psychophysical wellbeing of both man and plant. Handblown using an ancient Venetian technique, the white crystal lamp is also available in transparent silver and bronze finishes."
