Lighting Study and Supply for a Funky Pizzeria in Kythira by PROLIGHT

Tony’s Pizza is located within the castle walls of Kythira, serving authentic Neapolitan pizza with stunning views.

The client requested lighting that would enhance the colors and textures of the food, highlight the pizza-making process, and create an appealing aesthetic for both younger and older guests. The timeline from design to implementation was extremely tight, and the budget was limited, requiring a smart, resourceful solution.

Indoors, a mix of architectural and decorative lighting at 3000K was chosen to offer a clean, functional atmosphere. Above the marble prep counter, a flexible, waterproof side-view LED strip follows the counter’s curved shape. A higher-intensity CRI90+ light enhances the pizzas at the pass, making them look especially tempting to passersby.

Outdoors, special care was taken to preserve the view and avoid visual discomfort. The client requested not to use rechargeable table lamps, so integrated LED strips were discreetly placed in custom recesses within the surrounding wooden benches, illuminating the food without exposing the light source. Additional hidden lighting beneath the seating gently lights diners’ faces through reflection. Small decorative fixtures with diffused light were added to the building façade, filtering the source softly. Combined with the LED strips, the result is a pleasant, balanced outdoor ambiance—achieved with a remarkably limited budget.

All fixtures use CRI90+ LED sources and are phase-cut dimmable.
